When determining sizing, keep in mind that leather is very supple and every body is different. Some people like to wear their leather very tight to “squeeze” their body into the shape they wish. Others wish to wear their leather looser and just want a soft comforting hug, without feeling any “squeeze” at all.

BODICE AND FEMALE RIDING COAT:

For the female bodice and riding coat, there are closures or laces at four points. This means there are many ways to adjust the sizing. The front is usually laced or clasped so that it is closed and touching. The sides can be laced as far apart as 3″ (we suggest no more than 2″ for optimal comfort and look) while the back can be laced tighter or looser top, bottom, and waist, with up to 4″ apart (again, we suggest no more than 2-3″ for optimal comfort and look). The sizing listed is with all edges touching all way around and then given up to 5″ inches to adjust sides and back lacing as stated above for a customized fit.

DOUBLET AND MALE RIDING COAT:

Both of these items allow adjustment of size on each side. The sizings listed are with all eadges touching all way around and then given up to 4″ for side adjustment (we suggest no more than 2-3″ for optimal comfort and look). You can of course adjust the sides to lace farther apart if you choose.

All measurements are in inches and may vary by 1/4-1/2″ as this is a handmade product and some variance does occur.
